Job Title: Help Desk/Desktop
Location: Annapolis, MD
Duration: 3+ months
Type: Contract
  • This is an ONSITE POSITION. Candidates must be willing and able to work onsite full time for the duration of the contract. Remote work WILL NOT be considered. ONLY SUBMIT LOCAL CANDIDATES.
  • This is a SHORT-TERM position expected to last only 12 weeks. Due to the short-term nature, candidates you submit should be able to begin quickly if selected for the position, and should not be missing time off for vacation within that short- term duration.
  • Candidates will be based out of the worksite address noted in the details above, but they also have 11 other sites across the County that may need to be visited. The County has a vehicle to be used for travel to these sites, but the contractor must have a valid driver's license and insurance to be able to operate the County's vehicle.

Job Description:
  • This position performs help desk support while planning, integrating, and maintaining software and hardware for the Department's local and wide area network.
  • The primary responsibilities include providing on-site technical services to users and assisting with special projects, including the installation, configuration and upgrade of hardware and software, diagnostics of software and hardware problems and make repairs and adjustments or obtains service from software, hardware vendors or maintenance vendors.

Required Skills:
  • Professional experience working in a help desk technical support role researching & answering user questions & troubleshooting user problems
  • Experience maintaining, monitoring, patching, and reimaging workstations
  • Experience assisting both onsite users as well as remote users
  • Experience planning, integrating and maintaining software and hardware for local or wide area computer networks
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware / software, network computers and printers, and a variety of supported applications
  • Experience and understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Group Policies, and File Permissions
  • Experience with maintaining inventory for computer hardware
  • Physical ability to lift 50-pounds
  • Valid driver's license
